The magician displays three separate ropes in bright colors — red, blue, and green. Two spectators are invited to help and each chooses a rope. The spectators tie their ropes into circles with real knots, and the magician does the same with the third rope. Everything looks fair, simple, and impossible to gimmick.

Then the magic begins....

Without switching the ropes, untying the knots, or secretly adding anything, the performer causes the separate rope loops to magically link together. Just as mysteriously, the loops can be separated again. At the finish, the spectators may untie the knots and confirm that the knots were genuine.
