The War of the Worlds Book

By H.G. Wells

50th Anniversary Special Edition Limited Issue!

Note: This book Is Not a magic trick nor does it have any magic in it. The full-color artwork is simply beautiful and it's laid out in a comic book style. We picked up a very few copies of these because we know some magicians are into comics and also H.G. Wells as well as this story. Get'em while they last at this special price, they'll be no more.

One of H. G. Wells's best science fiction tales, about how the Martians attack Earth. Beautifully adapted into a hardcover graphic novel by Harry Miller and Lou Cameron and beautifully restored by the team of artists at Jack lake Productions.

"Yet across the gulf of space, minds that are to our minds as ours are to those of the beasts that perish, intellects vast and cool and unsympathetic, regarded this earth with envious eyes, and slowly and surely drew their plans against us. - H. G. Wells (1898), The War of the Worlds

Stories/Spoilers:

The night after a shooting star is seen streaking through the sky from Mars, a cylinder is discovered on Horsell Common in London. At first, naive locals approach the cylinder armed just with a white flag only to be quickly killed by an all-destroying heat-ray, as terrifying tentacled invaders emerge. Soon the whole of human civilization is under threat, as powerful Martians build gigantic killing machines, destroy all in their path with black gas and burning rays, and feast on the warm blood of trapped, still-living human prey. The forces of the Earth, however, may prove harder to beat than they at first appear.

In the English countryside, a strange capsule falls out of the night sky and unearthly creatures emerge - monsters from Mars bent on nothing less than total destruction! As the Martians sweep across the country, wasting everything in their path, humankind desperately seeks the key to survival. H.G. Wells' timeless Science Fiction classic is the basis for countless films., and the infamous 1939 Orson Welles radio cast that paralyzed the nation!

Featuring; The War of the Worlds: Introduction by William B. Jones Jr.; a Wells biography; "Nostradamus: Prophet or Imposter?"; "The War That Never Was" (Orson Welles).
