Condition Report:

• Binding: Tight and square. No spine lean.
• Cover: Light edge and corner wear consistent with age. Bright decorative stamping remains vivid. Minor shelf rubbing and a couple of small scuffs.There is a small stain on the rear cover.
• Inside Cover: Has writing in lower bottom, see photo, of "1889 =1st American Edition". Which we believe to be true.
• Spine: Strong with clear titling; some light rubbing and mild bumping at extremities.
• Pages: Clean and crisp with minimal toning. No writing. With very little foxing. No tears noted.
• Illustrations: All 140 illustrations present and sharp.
• Overall Grade: Very Good to Very Good+ for a book of this age (136 years old).
